PDF to Word
Convert a PDF into an editable Word document.
Best results are usually achieved with text-based PDFs. Scanned PDFs require OCR and are not supported in this version. Layout, headers, and complex pages may not match the original. Encrypted and rotated PDFs are not converted.
What this tool does
PDF to Word converts one text-based PDF into an editable Microsoft Word DOCX file named converted.docx.
The converter is designed for born-digital PDFs that contain selectable text. It can reconstruct paragraphs, tables, and some images into an editable Word document.
The conversion runs on this application’s private worker infrastructure rather than a third-party conversion API.
OCR is not included. Scanned or image-only PDFs, rotated pages, and password-protected PDFs are rejected instead of producing an unreliable Word file.
How to use it
- Upload one PDF file. The maximum is 25 MB and 50 pages.
- Select Convert to Word. The server-side worker converts the PDF into a DOCX document.
- Wait for processing to finish. The conversion has a 90-second processing limit.
- Download converted.docx and open it in Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or another DOCX-compatible editor.
- Review the formatting before editing or publishing the document, especially when the source PDF uses complex layouts.
Important limitations
- The converter works best with born-digital, text-based PDFs. Scanned PDFs require OCR, which is not available in this tool.
- Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are rejected.
- Rotated PDF pages are not supported.
- Maximum input is 25 MB and 50 pages per job.
- Conversion is limited to 90 seconds.
- The Word output is editable but is not guaranteed to be a pixel-perfect copy of the original PDF. Complex columns, headers, footers, tables, spacing, and decorative design may change.
